Year 7 Science week

This year’s theme was ‘Change and Adapt’ and Year 7 all took the ‘Institute of Civil Engineers’ challenge of building a tower on unstable ground (a sponge!). Through trial and error and developing an understanding of under-pinning some teams successfully built the requisite height of tower. 

After this, students worked on producing a poster for the British Science association based on ‘Change and Adapt’. The standard was incredibly high, and the winners were as follows: 

Elm and overall winners:  Harrison, Joseph, Reuben – History of Electricity 

Ash: Beatrice – Change and Adapt 

Cedar: Will – Darwin’s Finches 

Oak: Abigail, Silby, Katy – Domestication of the Dog 

Beech:  Joint winners: Amelie, Taraneh, Willow – Evolution of Architecture; Connie – Evolution of Cats.
