House Music competition takes place

17 brilliant soloists performed as part of our recent House Music Competition. The standard was incredible, with challenging music played with impressive style and sensitivity. Well done to all the players, and thank you also to Colyton’s very own band, The Side Act, who entertained the audience whilst the judges deliberated.  

The Junior Competition was won by Beibei L, who performed Beethoven’s Sonata No 1 In D Major, with Nathan O as the runner up. The Senior Competition champion was Ottilie B-P, with her performance of Elegie-Etude in E Minor by Donjon, with Xinfei A in 2nd place. Thank you to both Xinfei and Nathan who also accompanied other soloists.  

Beech House were the eventual winners, with contributions from Cara H, Year 9, Eleanor W, Year 9, Xinfei A, Year 13, Sian P, Year 13, Toby S, Year 10, and Samuel G, Year 12.
