Students compete in South West Schools Cross Country

On the 1st February, four of our Colyton Grammar School runners represented Devon at the South West Schools Cross Country Championships in Cornwall, putting in very respectable performances in some windy conditions and contributing to team medals.  

The Colyton representation started off strong, with Sofia L and Eliza T both going well in the Inter Girls Category, finishing 37th and 43rd respectively with both helping to launch Devon into 1st place in the team standings. In an exciting Inter Boys race, Ben P was our only representative and despite a tough and cramped start he pushed through and finished in a respectable 33rd, aiding Devon into first place for the Inter Boys team.  

Our last Colyton representative, Olly M, went in the Senior Boys race. He led from the front, finding himself in a very impressive 6th place, leading Devon onto the podium for a team medal. Massive congratulations to all who took part, and good luck to those who are picked for the English Schools championships in March.
