In preparation for the upcoming Rosslyn Park National 7s competition next month, our Under 16 boys Rugby team travelled down to Plymouth College for some warm-up games. These were a great opportunity for students to work on their fitness, tactics, strategies and communication in a 7s format.

Throughout the three games, we aimed to work on a number of aspects of our overall game play for example re-aligning at a break down, moving up as a line in defence whilst running a sweeper, recognising when to join a ruck or not as well as having the confidence to take on a defender on 1:1. In each game, there were elements of all of these aspects working really well and we produced some brilliant phases of play which will build our confidence for future 7s tournaments.

The results were as follows:

 Colyton 28 - 26 Exeter School

Colyton 35 – 31 Plymouth College

Colyton 21 – 24 Torquay Boys Grammar Schools

Well done to all students involved.
