Under 15 girls play in ESFA Cup

Our Colyton Grammar School Under 15 Girls football team played in the second round of the English Schools Football Association National Cup at home in a game against Atlantic Academy.  

The match kicked off with a bit of a setback for Colyton, as Atlantic Academy took advantage of a slow start and scored within a first five minutes. However, the girls quickly regrouped and responded with an equaliser. From that point onwards, Colyton took control, pushing forward with clinical attacking play. Goals from Maddie, Eliza, Izzy and Ellie in the first half saw Colyton go into the break 4-2 up.  

In the second half, the girls were solid defensively, showing superb effort and teamwork to shut down any attacking threats from Atlantic Academy. Eliza sealed the win with a late goal and the game finished 5-2.  

Eliza was deservedly named Player of the Match for her tireless work and leadership on the pitch.
