News - Dec 9

Last week, an excited audience was treated to an hour of fantastic student-led performances in our House Drama competition.

Ash house were the first to compete, performing a powerful piece called ‘Mobile Phones’. Judges Mr Wakeling and Mrs Harvey later chose this as the winning performance, praising the professionalism of the students’ focus, physical precision and accuracy of lines. The piece told a complete story and through its moving narrative explored the thought-provoking theme of relationships, and how easy it is to forget how important our real-life connections with people are. A special mention must go to Felix D in Year 9, who directed the piece, and in a very short amount of time.

Choosing the winner was an incredibly hard decision, with Oak house coming a very close second. Their performance of ‘Little Women’ contained some superb acting performances. Another special mention must go to Year 11 directors Sasha P and Blossom H who, following their mock exams, created some stunning design elements and very clear directing for their acting cast, again in a very short space of time.

Well done to all the performers and student leaders - this was an enjoyable evening for all.
