Further CyberFirst success for Colyton Grammar School
BackNews - Dec 9
This year, 17 girls from Year 8 entered the CyberFirst Girls Competition. This saw them working in teams of 3-4, tackling challenges from cryptography and logic to artificial intelligence and networking. The competition contained some advanced cyber topics that stretched their lateral thinking and cyber knowledge.
Well done to all the students who took part, and particularly to Izzy R, Annie M and Jess G who came 6th out of the 400 teams in the South West region. A great achievement.
We were also visited by a senior member of the management team at GCHQ Bude, who presented the school with our CyberFirst Gold Award in recognition of our commitment and dedication to delivering excellence in cyber security education.
In addition to meeting with Mr Harris, Mr Cronk and Mrs Benattar, the GCHQ representative met with the students who were successful in the CyberFirst Girls Competition and the GCHQ National Language Competition and attended a Q&A session with some of our GCSE and A Level Computer Science students, providing a valuable insight into their career and answering questions about cyber security.
