Under 15 girls play Hockey against Stover

Colyton Grammar School’s Under 15 Girls Hockey team delivered an impressive performance in their recent game against Stover, a thrilling match that showcased both skill and teamwork.  

The game began with an energetic start from both sides, as Colyton struck early with a well-taken goal. However, Stover responded quickly, levelling the score at 1-1 with a well-executed finish of their own. With the score tied, Colyton ramped up the pressure and began to dominate possession. Their solid defensive play, led by a resilient backline, kept Stover’s attacks at bay and leaving goalkeeper Jas K with little to do. The Colyton team midfield and forwards worked tirelessly, pushing the ball up the pitch and creating numerous goal-scoring opportunities. The game ended on a score of 6-1 to Colyton.  

Ellie J scored three of Colyton’s six goals, along with contributions from Lucy S, Arya B and Camarra H, all of whom took their chances with clinical finishing. Colyton’s relentless attack and clinical finishing meant the game ended on a great result for our team.  

It was also a fantastic opportunity for players who don’t often feature in fixtures, giving them invaluable experience. The oppositions Player of the Match was once again deservedly given to Ellie J, who was instrumental in Colyton’s success with her tireless efforts across the pitch. It was a solid team performance all round, with great contributions from every player helping Colyton earn a well-deserved victory.
