Netball teams play against Kings

Colyton produced a dominant performance in their Under 14 girls Netball match against Kings, securing a comprehensive 21-4 victory. The match began with Colyton in strong form, clinical in attack and resolute in defence. In the opening quarter, they quickly raced to a 6-1 lead, restricting Kings to just one goal.
The second quarter saw Colyton maintain their momentum, with Izzy W and Holly W finding the net with ease. By halftime, Colyton were firmly in control. By halftime, Colyton were firmly in control, leading 14-2. In the second half, Colyton’s work rate never dropped. Dorothy W, Mabel S and Katie H were all exceptional in centre court, dictating play and setting up attacking opportunities. Meanwhile, Ava R, Peggy J and Eleanor stood strong in defence, making crucial interceptions and limiting Kings’ chances on goal.
The final whistle blew with Colyton securing a well-deserved 21-4 win, showcasing their skill and teamwork across all areas of the court. Players of the match went to Peggy J and Izzy W. Well done to all involved.
The Under 16 team also played a great match against Kings, with a huge thank you to Ellie J, Erin D, Erin P and Niamh C, all in Year 10, for stepping up to play last minute. The girls started strongly in both attack and defence, working the ball well in all areas of the court. Consistent shooting from Josie and Erin led to a 7-2 lead at quarter time, and by half time the lead was increased to 13-3 following some impressive intercepts and turnovers from Annabel and Clarice.
Kings started to make a comeback in the second half, but Colyton remained calm and confident. The end result was 24-11 to Colyton, a fantastic first league match. Kings selected Josie W as player of the match, well deserved for some very consistent shooting.
The team looks forwards to attending the Devon County Round later this month.
