Colyton Grammar School marks Remembrance Day with service
BackNews - Nov 19
Last week, we as a school marked Remembrance Day with a special service. The Senior School students (Year 10-13) gathered in Cottrill Hall where they were joined by staff, local dignitaries, Old Colytonians and Father Steven Martin, Rector of the Holyford Mission Community to remember those who lives had been lost and scarred by conflict. We especially remembered those students and staff member that lost their lives in the two World Wars.
This year, Mr Finn, History teacher at our school but known to others as Major Finn, Royal Marines, shared his reflections on this day of remembrance. The School Captains led the School in a moment of reflection and Fr Steven provided a thought-provoking homily. Two of our students, Isaac M and Enzo M, gave a particularly poignant performance of the Last Post and Reveille, following the reading of the Roll of Honour.
It was a moving assembly, and we would like to thank all the students for their participation.
