Students of all ages have been developing their strategic skills with a game of Backgammon, one of the many Period 3 ¾ clubs available (and enjoying themselves in the process!).

Backgammon dates back 5000 years and is the most widespread Western member of the large family of table games. It is a game where you have fifteen pieces (traditionally known as tablemen) and you move these across twenty-four points using the rolls of two dice. The aim is to get all fifteen pieces around the board and be the first to bear off. If the opponent is still a long way behind when this happens, you get a win known as Backgammon, hence the name.
