Recently, the Sidmouth Science Festival took place and Robin D, Year 12 student, has written about the day:

Our day started at around 10am at Kennaway House in Sidmouth, where we were based for the whole of the Super Science Saturday.

Over the course of the day hundreds of people visited to learn about a huge range of scientific concepts including electromagnetism, cell biology, infrared radiation and the Magnus effect. Our main challenge was deciding how to keep the activity engaging whilst still ensuring that our audience, who ranged from key stage 1 up to adults, learnt the underlying science behind the activity.

Overall, the day was great fun for us as students and (hopefully) for anyone who visited as well. I think it’s fair to say that Sidmouth Science Festival, and our part in it, was a success, thanks to the help of our teachers and technicians who were not only there on the day but also put together all our delicate demo models!
