News - Jun 5

Sometimes the summer term is viewed as a ‘wind down’, but that is completely untrue in our Music Department. For us, it is an opportunity to get involved in community music and promote younger musicians to fill positions now vacant due to A Level and GCSE exams.

D-Day Service in Colyton Church – Thursday 6th June 2pm – Junior/Senior Choir

Junior Choir Tour – Monday 17th June – Junior choir and others – Colyton, Axmouth and Seaton Churches

Summer concert – Tuesday 25th June – School ensembles - Cottrill Hall

Beer Church fundraiser – Wednesday 26th June 7pm – Soloists/Small groups

Piano Recital – Friday 19th July – Alex Wilson’s Pupils - Recital Room

Come and Sing Evensong – Colyton Church – Sunday 21st July 4pm – Anyone

We are particularly looking forward to our Junior Choir Tour, which gives pupils in Years 7 and 8 (with a few older students too) the experience of performing to different audiences in different locations such as Axmouth and St Gregory’s Church in Seaton.

The academic year concludes with ABRSM exams but also the presentation of a House Music Trophy, which has been kindly donated by a parent and will be presented to the winners, Elm, at the final assembly in July. With these many musical events taking place, it is a real testament to the talent and commitment of our students who get involved and faithfully attend the weekly rehearsals.
