News - Mar 15
The first #TECHOGNITION event was launched in 2018 with the aim of showcasing and celebrating the role of school science technicians and, in recent years, it has expanded to cover all technical staff who work in schools and Further Education Colleges in the UK.
Science, Art, Design & Technology, Art, Music, Drama, PE and other school and FE college technicians are encouraged to take part by uploading photographs of themselves performing any of the vast and varied jobs that they do on any given day to publicly showcase their essential roles in education.
School and Further Education technicians are highly qualified, skilled, experienced and essential members of school staff whose value in our successful school departments is not underestimated. Our five strong technical team share almost 90 years of laboratory, classroom and workshop experience between them, and we would like to thank Mrs Jokonya, our Senior Technician and her outstanding team, Mr Waite, Mrs Courtney-Baker, Mr Fitzgerald and Mr Taylor, for everything that they do in school across science, Art, DT, ICT, outreach and extra-curricular clubs. Their support makes so many activities possible.
