Students excel in hockey games

Our girls recently had a great afternoon, hosting the annual area hockey tournament. Our team started strong beating Exmouth 3-0 and Uffculme 4-0. The last game was a local derby, Colyton vs Kings.
Possession was probably 60/40 in favour of Colyton, but it was Kings who capitalised on their chances. Nearing the end of the game, Kings put two goals away. However, our team played really well and a special mention to Ellie, Camarra, Katie and Lilia for their standout performances. The whole squad look strong and show potential for the next season.
It was a match against Kings for our Boys Under 16 team as well in the East Devon Hockey Tournament. Beforehand, Colyton put in a very strong performance against Sidmouth, scoring almost immediately and keeping the opposition at bay for the entirety of the game. The game finished Sidmouth 0-4 Colyton, with a goal from Sonny B and a hattrick from Conrad M.
In the final game against Kings, it turned out to be a very evenly matched end-to-end game. Both teams played very well and had numerous goal scoring opportunities. Unfortunately, we were unable to convert any of our chances and the game ultimately finished Kings 1-0 Colyton.
Colyton finished the East Devon Tournament as runners up. Well done to all those involved.
