Colyton Grammar School University Challenge begins
BackNews - Feb 28
In a thrilling display of intellectual prowess, Colyton Grammar School House teams began their journeys in the House University Challenge Competition with House teams from Years 7 and 8 taking part in matches.
Each House team will complete two matches and the scores will be combined, and whilst the lowest scoring house will be eliminated, the others will progress further. Under the leadership of their dedicated Year 12 House Events Captains, the teams navigated through challenging questions in various subjects, including science, literature, history and the arts. The highest scoring team’s ability to collaboratively tackle complex problems and their rapid response times set them apart as formidable contenders and we look forward to the later rounds.
The buzzer system is an amazing achievement that really enhances the competition and has been designed and built by Ryan M, one of our outstanding Year 12 students. In addition, we have our very own theme tune composed by another talented Year 12 student Ottilie B-P and Year 12 A Level music students.
The competition will continue throughout the year, and we hope to live stream the matches on 18th April as part of our Giving Day events.
