Opportunities to become positive role models in learning in leadership are very important. Anwen, Isobel R and Lizzie, all from 7 Beech have written the following, regarding the choir workshop in which they took part.
“We had a visit from Cranbrook Primary School Choir to take part in a joint choir and singing workshop with Junior Choir and Senior Choir. The focus was Christmas songs, especially ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas’. Mrs Lester taught the Cranbrook pupils the song and the actions which they learnt very quickly. After singing a few other festive pieces such as ‘Jingle Bells’ and ‘Little Donkey’, our Senior Choir arrived in time to perform as part of a three-choir rendition (with actions) or ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas’. We enjoyed singing as a group and teaching the song to the younger year groups.
“During the second part of the rehearsal, the Senior Choir performed ‘Torches’ conducted by Willow (Year 13) and accompanied by Oriel (Year 12). The Cranbrook pupils joined in with the soprano and bass parts. With a little help from Mr Harris on tenor as well as Mrs Lester on alto, we produced a lovely sound. We are looking forward to further joint ventures.”
