Year 7 students take part in concert
BackNews - Nov 20
Recently, our Year 7 concert took place with a huge number of students taking part. It was a great event and three students have written a review, which can be found below. Congratulations to everyone who took part and thank you to Mrs Robert for organising the event. An additional thank you to the CGSPA for providing the refreshments.
The Year 7 concert was an exciting event and a great thing to be part of. Over the last few weeks, we have been practising the songs ‘Twist and Shout’, ‘Stand By Me’ and ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ in class and it is a relief to see how our hard work paid off as over 120 of the year group took part and delivered an outstanding performance. It was especially entertaining when we involved the audience doing the echo in ‘Twist and Shout’! We regret not asking them to try some dance moves!
There were several soloists as well from each of the forms and singing various instrument and musical styles. Hearing Lochan play ‘Hogwarts’ on the bassoon was enjoyable as well as Sam, Nathan, Nathanael and others playing the piano so confidently.
Following on from the Learning to Learn evening, the concert was a fantastic was to exploit our musical talents and come together as a year group to create many special memories here at Colyton Grammar School
