Over the summer, Neelabh R (Year 8) took part in the KS3 Summer Essay Competition, organised by Exeter College, Oxford University. The competition is open to UK based students in Years 7,8 and 9.

Those taking part were tasked to ‘tell us about a problem facing the world today. Explain what the problem is and offer a solution’.

Neelabh chose to write about loneliness in elderly people, and we are proud to announce that with his essay, he went on to become the runner up winner of the competition.

Feedback for Neelabh’s entry from the Essay Assessor of the competition stated, ‘A nice conclusion, I especially liked your points about older people having a “wealth of experience” and being important for the preservation of cultural values and traditions. Overall, this is a nice essay and clearly well-researched.”

Congratulations Neelabh for your achievement
