Colyton Grammar School students celebrate Yoto Carnegie Medal for Writing
BackNews - Jun 22
This year, 15 students have been shadowing the Yoto Carnegie Medal for Writing, reading all seven books on the shortlist and voting for their favourite.
Ten students also attended a celebration event organised by Devon School Library Services at Stover School where they had the opportunity to give a presentation of their book of choice – ‘When Shadows Fall’ by Sita Brahmachari - and listen to presentations given by other schools on other books from the shortlist.
Author Chris Vick was also at the event, and students were able to listen to him talk about his books and his writing process, whilst also getting a book signed and having their photo taken with him. Chris also gave feedback on their presentations and praised our students for their articulacy and passion. Well done to all our committed Carnegie shadowers!
