News - May 15

As a school, we are often asking students to take themselves out of their comfort zone and encouraging them to take on new challenges. In order to improve oneself, you must look to learn and that can include some struggle as you adapt to new situations, solve new problems and acquire new domain specific information. This can be hard for some as they falsely believe that they must be perfect.

Modelling the behaviour and attitudes that we want to see in our students is a brilliant way to help create new and more dynamic mindsets. Therefore, the school is delighted to announce that a number of colleagues have recently passed a variety of professional qualifications. Not only have they modelled that learning is on-going and never stops but these newly acquired qualifications will also improve the efficacy and efficiency of their work with our students.

This will enable him to support other schools whilst building an effective understanding of effective pedagogy in the world of mathematics.

There is a national ongoing discussion about the retention and professional development of those in the teaching profession and these outcomes in a huge variety of ways illustrate the excellence and commitment of the Colyton Grammar School staff. Congratulations and well done to all.
