Colyton Grammar School celebrates with annual Spring Fair
BackNews - Apr 26
Great fun was had at the weekend as Colyton Grammar School celebrated with our annual Spring Fair, organised by Colyton Grammar School Parents’ Association (PA) and bringing together students and their families with local residents and businesses.
Craft stalls filled Cottrill Hall, with all sorts of wares available to purchase. From paintings of local beauty spots by Hannah Oram, glass art by Jane Baker as Maradadi Designs, hand finished cards, prints and gifts by Coppertop Cards and silver jewellery by Elly Harvey Silver, to name but a few.
Further stalls surrounded the hall and the Feoffees building, including flowers by Parish Petals and willow artwork by JK Willows, which proved very popular. Another busy stall, run by the Colyton Grammar School PA, was a second-hand uniform stall offering parents the opportunity to purchase CGS uniform, in turn, helping us to be a more sustainable school. The PA continued the sustainability theme with a second-hand book stall and a plant stall both with stock donated by parents and friends of the school.
There was also plenty of food on offer for those attending the fair, with pizza and curry available along with the barbecue favourites. Cakes donated by parents were available from Take Five with the ice cream stand, ran by Cortona Gelato Bar (soon to be opening in Seaton), proving very popular as the warm weather came out much to our relief after the many forecasts of rain! The PA also ran the barbecue, bar and Pimms and Prosecco bar.
Visitors to the fair also enjoyed a performance from Seaton Majorettes.
Thank you to everyone who helped to make the Spring Fair possible, what a wonderful event and funds raised will go towards activities which enrich the school experience for students.
