Colyton Grammar School students compete in Chess Team Problem Solving National Final
BackNews - Apr 25
On Wednesday 19th April, four of Colyton Grammar School’s keen chess players went to Imperial College, London, to compete in the Chess Team Problem Solving National Final.
Tejas P, Emma R, Toby R and Daniel S made up the team competing against five other schools, and were off to a flying start, getting 100% correct in their first round. The later rounds proved trickier, although the team continued to display tenacity and fantastic teamwork. The team ended up coming in sixth place but were only a couple of points behind the teams in both fifth and fourth place – an impressive feat considering they were the youngest team there and it was their first time experiencing this sort of competition. Well done to all the players!
