From indoor cricket to the first girls' basketball fixture, our Colyton Grammar School sports teams have continued to impress with their skills and teamwork.

In hockey, our boys travelled to Millfield to play in the T2 West Finals. We may have lost four matches but winning our last one was a nice way to finish the day. The games were quite physical at times and challenging, but our team put in some good performances and battled well, with lots of positives to take from the event. With some work on finishing and minimising errors, our team would have certainly drawn two of their matches. Well done to the entire squad.

Although the team did not win, our girls loved their first basketball game and now want more. The girls displayed their skills and team play in the match against Uffculme, enjoying a great afternoon of basketball. The team just need to develop their shooting accuracy and consistency in preparation for their next game.

There was great success for our Under 13 indoor cricket team as they finished third in the county. In the group stages, they beat Sidmouth and Churston Ferris, only losing to DHSB by one run in their first match. This put them in the third/fourth playoff match where they beat Uffculme in the close-fought match, claiming third place.

The Under 16 A and B netball teams played Sidmouth recently in two fantastic games where it was clear to see lots of player development over the last few months. The Under 16 As stormed the game winning 30-2 with Player of the Match going to Aoife C. The Under 16 Bs had a tough match but pulled off a victory winning 10-4 with Player of the Match going to Jemimah O.

The Under 14 A and B netball teams also played against Sidmouth but, due to the weather conditions, had to play inside which meant less game time. Nevertheless, the girls still came out with lots of enthusiasm. The Under 14 As played brilliantly with some fantastic interceptions winning 13-5, with Player of the Match being awarded to Srasta B. The Under 14 Bs showed some fantastic shooting skills throughout, growing in confidence throughout the game. They won 7-0, with Player of the Match being awarded to Isabella A.

Well done to all involved for your sporting achievements.
