Sixth Form Academic Journal – Summer 2026 Edition
BackNews - Jul 16
The Summer 2026 edition of the Colyton Grammar School Sixth Form Academic Journal has now been published. Bringing together eleven contributions across 24 pages, the latest issue offers a wide-ranging celebration of intellectual curiosity, independent scholarship and creativity among our Sixth Form students.
This is the first edition produced by the new editorial team, who have brought considerable energy and imagination to the Journal’s continued development. Congratulations and thanks go to Year 12 students, Daya, Grace, Cassia, Ed, Samit, Elise, Bernice and Alex for curating and designing such an engaging collection.
The articles range from the legacy of the Battle of Plassey and the relationship between pollution and public health to gender bias in contraceptive development, immigration rhetoric and the potential use of cannabinoids in treating neurodegenerative diseases. The edition also includes translations from Chinese, French and Spanish, French creative writing, oil-pastel artwork and a striking selection of photography from India.
As ever, the Journal reflects the breadth of our students’ interests and their willingness to explore complex questions with independence, ambition and academic rigour. Congratulations to all the contributors, and we look forward to seeing how the Journal continues to develop in the year ahead.
