t was another strong performance in wet and muddy conditions by our Under 12s football team as they played against Axe Valley. The team demonstrated great determination and control to ensure that Axe Valley were unable to score more than two meaning that the team came away with a 4-2 victory, with George H scoring an impressive hat trick. The team progress through to the final which is due to be played before the end of term.
The Under 16s team played well and stayed strong in their must-win game against Exmouth, with our boys starting the stronger of the sides. Their continued pressure resulted in a goal in the first half, a great strike from Carwin outside the box to find the bottom corner. The team didn’t let off and their efforts were repaid with another goal scored by Mattie with the last kick of the half. Exmouth came out firing for the second half with a couple of early efforts on goal. Colyton failed to clear the ball leading to a goal for Exmouth after a sustained period of attack. Even so, the boys finished the game as the eventual winners with a score of Colyton 2, Exmouth 1. This victory meant that the Colyton team progress through the league into the knock-out stages of the competition.
